Position Summary
The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum is seeking an energetic and dependable Museum Education Assistant to support children’s programming, school field trips, and educational tours. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about history and education.
The Education Assistant will help create engaging and welcoming experiences for museum visitors and school groups through hands-on activities, tours, and educational programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with leading school field trips, tours, and educational activities
- Support children’s programming, family events, workshops, and seasonal camps
- Help prepare and organize educational materials and activity supplies
- Maintain educational spaces and ensure materials are clean and organized
- Engage positively with children, families, teachers, and visitors
- Assist with set-up and clean-up for programs and events
- Provide support during special museum events and educational initiatives
- Help monitor student groups and maintain a safe learning environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational, camp, museum, or childcare settings preferred
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and dependable personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and visitors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work with active groups of children
- Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends or special events
